Self-healing ClearCoat
90 Series Reflow+

The CARDIP Reflow+ 2K HS ClearCoat is a permanently elastic, 2-component high solid clearcoat for the CARDIP® peelable paint spray film system with self-healing properties. Slight scratches, such as those caused by washing the vehicle, heal again when exposed to heat from the sun, a hot air dryer or hot water. The clearcoat is just as easy to apply as a conventional clearcoat and is extremely hard and scratch-resistant when cured. The product achieves a smooth and high-gloss surface as known from OEM/factory paints and can be sanded and polished like a conventional clearcoat.
The special feature of this special clearcoat is the water-based hybrid technology. The clearcoat does not meet the criteria for hazardous goods and is therefore very easy to use and handle. The polymer used builds up a permanently flexible polymer structure that can compensate for deformation caused by mechanical impact (scratches) through the effect of heat. The scratches "heal" as a result. The film coatings sealed with the 2K spray film clearcoat can be permanently cleaned in the automatic car wash. The clearcoat is cross-linked 3:1 with hardener 9070.

A strong coating
for peelable paint
The CARDIP Reflow+ spray film clearcoat is highly resistant to long-term mechanical stress. Peelable paint films coated with the self-healing clearcoat can be permanently cleaned in the automatic car wash without changing the gloss level or causing a "glossy" effect on edges.
The integrated high-performance additives give the spray film clearcoat a finish that is finish that is as durable as it is easy to clean.
Special development
for peelable paint
The self-healing CARDIP Reflow+ peelable paint clearcoat offers an optimum balance between efficiency, performance and user-friendliness. The sel-healing clearcoat for peelable paint is formulated for lasting flexibility with maximum surface hardness, making it particularly suitable for for overcoating elastic films.
Mechanical + Chemical resistance
In combination with CARDIP 2K HS Hardener 9070, the CARDIP Reflow+ clearcoat achieves a very dense cross-linking, making the surface of the spray film resistant to weathering, UV radiation and mechanical influences.
The polymer used builds up a permanently flexible polymer structure that can compensate for deformation caused by mechanical impact (scratches) through the effect of heat. This allows the scratches to "heal" again.

High gloss & matte
The CARDIP Reflow+ 2K HS clearcoat achieves a gloss level of 60-70E/20° according to DIN EN ISO 4816 in the high-gloss version 9080 and a gloss level of 15-20E/60° according to DIN EN ISO 4816 in the matte version strong9090. The clearcoat therefore achieves a surface finish that is indistinguishable from a modern factory finish. The gloss level can be adjusted by continuously mixing the two variants.

Low-VOC
High-Solid-
Formulation
The CARDIP Reflow+ clearcoat is a water-based hybrid system and has a very high solids content. This makes the clearcoat highly efficient and environmentally friendly at the same time. In addition, it does not meet the criteria for classification as a hazardous material and is therefore particularly easy to handle.
Complementary products
The CARDIP Reflow+ 2K HS spray film clearcoat is a system component of the CARDIP spray film system and not a stand-alone product. For correct function, the use of other products is necessary. These include
FAQ - Peelable Paint self-healing Reflow+ ClearCoat
The CARDIP peelable paint system is made up of carefully matched components, and we strongly discourage using conventional clear coats on peelable paint. Standard automotive clear coats tend to harden significantly, and the stark difference in hardness between the flexible peelable paint and the rigid clear coat can cause stress cracks. Additionally, certain substances, such as the solvents in some clear coats, can cause the peelable paint substrate to swell, negatively impacting its functionality. Because clear coats vary widely, we cannot universally recommend them for use with CARDIP peelable paint BaseCoats. Moreover, the spray film must meet additional functional requirements, such as being removable, which conventional lacquers do not typically have to meet.
CARDIP 90 Series Reflow+ clear coat does not require any further thinner after mixing with the hardener.
CARDIP 90 Series Reflow+ clear coats can be applied using a standard clear coat spray gun, such as a SATA 5500B RP or Iwata WS-400. The optimum nozzle size is 1.3mm.
CARDIP 90 Series Reflow+ clear coats are an important part of the overall structure and contribute to the peelability and mechanical resistance of the peelable paint film. However, the clear coats are not peelable on their own, but only in combination with CARDIP BaseCoats PPS Pro Clear 5050 or 7080, applied using the patented multi-layer process.
Classic intermediate sanding or "flow-coat", as with standard clear coats, is also possible with CARDIP 90 Series Reflow+ clear coats.
