70 Series
PPS Pro Clear
BaseCoat

The CARDIP PPS Pro Clear BaseCoat 7080 is the basis of the multi-layer process developed and patented by CARDIP for liquid car wrapping and the core of the solvent-based CARDIP peelable paint spray film system.

The innovative Easy-Peel-Polymer™ forms a colorless and permanently elastic film coating by spraying, which can be removed easily and without residue if required. The product is compatible with all common automotive base coats and can therefore be painted over in any desired color and effect if required.

The special feature of this state of the art peelable paint protection spray (PPS) is its focus on maximum transparency and optimum leveling. This BaseCoat is therefore the first choice for use as a transparent stone chip protection film / paint protection film, especially on dark and light-colored surfaces. Special wetting agents ensure easy wetting of all substrates (paint, metal, chrome, etc.), allowing the BaseCoat to be applied to almost any substrate. The low-VOC, high-solids formulation ensures high film thicknesses with few spray coats and very easy removal, even after years. The leveling agents integrated in the product ensure a smooth surface structure, as known from modern automotive paints.

CARDIP® is developed and produced in Germany.

Drop-In Tints

7070 Deep Black and 7060 Pure White make it possible to color the transparent PPS Pro Clear BaseCoat 7080. The BaseCoat can therefore be applied directly in the target color or as a base tone from black to grey to white, thus helping to save application time and paint material.

The pigment concentrates are optimally matched to the PPS Pro Clear BaseCoat 7080 and do not impair the function of the film due to the low addition of less than 5%.

Designed to the last detail

The development of the innovative easy-peel polymer of the CARDIP PPS Pro Clear BaseCoat 7080 is based on our know-how from 10 years of peelable paint and thousands of coated vehicles.

Thermoflexible Film (TFX)

The innovative polymer of the 70 Series BaseCoat forms a thermoflexible film that has a high hardness at normal temperatures. As surface temperatures rise (from 70°C), the film becomes soft and elastic. This technology enables the spray film to achieve high hardness and resistance at normal ambient temperatures and therefore a long service life. At the same time, it can be easily removed by selective heating.

Compatible with all base coats

The CARDIP 70 Series BaseCoat can be overcoated with water-based and solvent-based automotive basecoats, making it possible to create any conceivable color effect in the form of a residue-free removable film. In principle, any 1K basecoat can be used. The following systems from leading paint manufacturers are particularly suitable:

Permacron®
STBAS
ENVIROBASE
REIHE 100
AQUABASE
AUTOWAVE

Fields of application

CARDIP has been developed for the temporary coating of surfaces for protective and decoration purposes to be applied to exterior vehicle bodies. The process is considered an innovation in the field of vehicle foiling and offers users and customers the possibility of seamless foiling with the option variety and quality of a paint finish by applying the spraying method.

FAQ - Solvent Peelable Paint

1. What is CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 made of?

CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 consists of a mixture of special high-performance polymers dissolved in solvents. From a chemical point of view, CARDIP 7080 is therefore a dissolved plastic that forms a peelable film when various additives are added.

2. Which spray gun/nozzle size should be used for CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080?

CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 can be applied using a standard base coat spray gun, such as the SATA 5500B RP / HVLP. The optimum nozzle size is 1.8mm.

3. Can a design also be applied to top of the CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080?

CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 is transparent and can be coloured using Drop-In Tints 7070 Jet Black and 7060 Pure White. In addition, the BaseCoat can can be optionally overpainted with a standard water-based or solvent-based paint basecoat. Since the surface of the CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 becomes solid after drying, a design can also be masked and painted on as in a classic paint job.

4. Can CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 also be painted with nitrogen?

CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 can also be painted with nitrogen. In this case, care should be taken to ensure that the temperature (preheating) is not set too high. Ideally, this should be 20-25°C.

5. On which substrate can CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 be applied?

CARDIP PPS BaseCoat 7080 can be applied to almost any solid and non-absorbent substrate/surface, including high-quality plastics (ABS), glass and all metals. Since CARDIP PPS Pro Clear 7080 is solvent-based, the compatibility of unpainted surfaces must be tested beforehand.
